When someone says "gay wedding," the last thing we think of is Food Network's bleach blonde treasure Guy "Off the Hook/Chains/Charts" Fieri. Yet here we are, talking about Guy presiding over a massive wedding for same-sex couples. And the reasons he wanted to officiate this celebration of love are very touching, so we are very excited to see that the big wedding was a huge success!

At this past weekend's South Beach Wine & Food Festival in Miami, celebrity chef Art Smith put together a giant, free gay wedding to celebrate marriage equality coming to his home state of Florida. Smith announced the 101 Gay Wedding event the day the ban on same-sex marriages was lifted back in January.

"I believe not only celebrating this momentous occasion, but we also need to keep in mind there are still people, people around our country, who still don't have the rights," he told The Miami Herald. "It's important we show the utmost respect and encouragement to these young couples who want to be married. And why not marry them in style?"

And style they had in the form of Guy Fieri, who officiated over the ceremony in a purple suit, many rings and his meticulously groomed multi-colored goatee. He reportedly provided the service in honor of his late sister, who was a lesbian.

Celebrity baker Duff Goldman provided a stunning seven-tier cake, and Chopped host Ted Allen, who is the epitome of style, also graced the weddings with his presence.

Smith chose the number 101 as a nod to the Disney film 101 Dalmatians and to throw shade at Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who worked very hard to keep same-sex couples from getting married.

"We have our own Cruella De Vil, Pam Bondi. She was determined that she was going to prevent equality from coming to Florida," he said. "For a state known for sunshine, it was living in the darkness when it came to LGBT rights and it was important to acknowledge that."

Congrats to the happy newlyweds and big kudos to Guy, Duff and Art for putting together such a beautiful, blessed event!
