There is no doubt that Lindsay Lohan grew up in the spotlight, having starred at a young age in a soap opera and the classic film, The Parent Trap. But after going to rehab and seemingly reinventing herself, the Mean Girls star has done some reflecting.

In Issue 8 of Hunger, We've Got Issues, from Editor in Chief Rankin, who is also co-founder and co-owner of Dazed & Confused, Lohan opens up about how growing up in Tinseltown affected her and how much the price of fame can really cost a star, especially in the age of the Internet.

"I've been doing this for so long that it's different now. We didn't use to have Twitter and stuff," she explains to the magazine's bi-annual issue. "Now the price that you pay is that your life is so much more viral. You can't get away from it. You have no privacy unless you choose to live your life a certain way.

"I went away and had treatment and tried to be private," she adds.

The privacy has definitely done her some good, as she look stunning in the photographs, which were shot by world-renowned photographer Rankin. But getting that much-needed space wasn't always something that was attainable for the actress; however, she doesn't only blame the media for going after her; she also blames herself.

"Yeah, definitely, but I think I also have to take responsibility for that," she says when asked if she thought the media ever had it out for her. "I was putting myself into situations where it was easier for them to do that. It's just a process of growing up—that's what happens when kids are in college and no one's around telling them what's what, but I chose to live my life in public.

She adds, "And I stepped back from it and I thought, 'Okay, if I don't put myself in that place, then they can't say anything.' I think it's just learning and I like to learn the hard way, clearly."

Clearly the price of fame has had a resounding effect on the 28-year-old London theater star, because she released an app called "The Price of Fame" in December! When it was released she promised fans, "You can become a famous celebrity just like me, but there is a lot of DRAMA along the way!"

"Drama" might be an understatement. The app boasts an option to punch a paparazzo, but LiLo claims she hasn't come across that feature just yet.

I haven't seen that part of it," she confesses. "I don't think I'll be doing that."
