Bobbi Kristina Brown is showing signs of improvement but remains on life support, one of her aunts says, more than a week after the only child of the late Whitney Houston was hospitalized after being found unconscious and facedown in a bathtub in her Georgia home.

Leolah Brown, sister of the iconic pop star's ex-husband and the 21-year-old's father Bobby Brown, made her comments to the FOX 5 Atlanta TV station on Tuesday. The interview was carried out a day before the 3-year anniversary of Houston's death.

"There are so many signs showing us that she will be OK," Leolah said about Bobbi Kristina. "In spite of what people are saying over the Internet, Krissi is fine, as I sit here before you today."

When asked if the doctors have told the family that Bobbi Kristina is improving, Leolah replied, "Yes, ma'am."

"She's still on life support," she said. "We know that she's opening her eyes. That's true. She's opening her eyes and there's a few more things that she's doing but Krissi is doing well right now. She is."

Bobbi Kristina's cousin, Jerod Brown, aka YF Kennedy, had told E! News last week that doctors had said "she has been opening her eyes and it's not a good thing or a bad thing."

Another cousin, Shayne Brown, told Entertainment Tonight earlier this week that she is "getting better" and that Bobby was in "good spirits." Both men and Shayne's mom, Tina Brown, had rushed to Bobbi Kristina's hospital bedside following the incident.

On the morning of Jan. 31, Bobbi Kristina's partner Nick Gordon's friend found her face down in a filled tub in her Georgia home. Gordon attempted to perform CPR before police and paramedics arrived and she was taken to a hospital. The incident remains under criminal investigation.

Medical professionals have not commented about Bobbi Kristina's condition. After she was hospitalized, doctors put her on a ventilator to help her breathe and also placed her in a medically induced coma. Doctors have not revealed why. Such procedures are often used to treat drowning survivors, to help reduce swelling in the brain.

Leolah told FOX 5 Atlanta that she was "just numb" when she saw her niece on life support for the first time.

"When I walked in the room and saw her there, I couldn't stand there too long but I knew I had to pray," she said. "So I asked God to give her my energy, to please help her get through this."

"It's been very painful," she added. "Very, very painful for everybody, mainly Bobby, because that's his baby laying there. Everybody's hurting and suffering but...nobody's hurting and suffering more than Bobby. I'm very hopeful that everything will be alright with Krissi."
