"It's just nice because I think everyone's been really happy and supportive and there for each other," Davis explained to E! News.
"I'm just trying to live in this moment and just have a good time with it."
The stunner also added that her beau, baseball star Derek Jeter, put his stamp of approval on the super sexy snaps.
"Everyone was really excited for me. Everyone in my life, I mean, this is huge," she gushed.
"So they're all very happy."
Earlier this week, Davis tried her best to dodge the Jeter questions during an appearance on the Today show but ultimately revealed that she's been able to spend more time with the now-retired New York Yankee since his departure.
So has Jeter been logging in hours in the gym with Davis while she prepped for her barely there bikini shoot? Well, not quite…
"I don't think anyone wants to workout with me," she joked with us. "I'm sort of a biotch in the gym! I like to workout by myself and just listen to music. I'm not that girl that can jog and talk because I don't really like the gym, so if I'm in there and I get myself there just don't bother me. I just have to get through it and get out."
We can totally sympathize with that!
Davis also continued to defend her SI cover to all the haters claiming it was too revealing, telling us, "They're saying it's pornographic, I'm laughing at it, because it's a swimsuit issue!"
"If you don't want to see girls in bikinis go pickup another magazine. I don't know what to tell you!"
