Jon Voight thinks Angelina Jolie deserves more credit.

Though the actress-turned-director scored three nominations at the 87th Annual Academy Awards, she was ignored in the Best Director category for Unbroken. Instead, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences chose to recognize Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman), Richard Linklater (Boyhood), Bennett Miller (Foxcatcher) and Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game). Unbroken is nominated for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.

"I wish she had [been nominated], because I think she deserved it," he told reporters at Clive Davis' pre-Grammys gala in Beverly Hills Saturday, according to Vulture. "I think her direction is astounding, really astounding, and if she wasn't my daughter, I'd still say, 'I want to work for that one.' She's a great actor's director—the pace of the film, the size of the film. Unbelievably difficult stuff that she accomplished."

Jolie did earn a Best Director nod at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, but lost to Linklater.

Universal Pictures' Unbroken currently has a 51 percent "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Don't feel too bad for Jolie: the Girl, Interrupted star won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1999, and the actress received the Academy's Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 2013.

Meanwhile, it was announced Tuesday that Cake's Jennifer Aniston and Selma's David Oyelowo are scheduled to present after being snubbed in the Best Actress and Best Actor categories, respectively. Other presenters include Ben Affleck, Cate Blanchett, Jessica Chastain, Marion Cotillard, Benedict Cumberbatch, Viola Davis, Kevin Hart, Josh Hutcherson, Scarlett Johansson, Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong'o, Shirley MacLaine, Matthew McConaughey, Sienna Miller, Chris Pine, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Octavia Spencer, Meryl Streep, Miles Teller, John Travolta, Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts, Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon. Gone Girl's Neil Patrick Harris will host the show live Feb. 22.

No word yet whether Jolie will attend the ceremony.

Her husband, Brad Pitt, produced the film via Plan B Productions.
