Step aside Hannah Davis! There's a new Sports Illustrated swimsuit model people can't stop talking about.

No, it's not because of her itsy-bitsy bikini. And no she doesn't have a scandalous past. Instead, Ronda Rousey is the first MMA fighter to grace the sexy issue and make a powerful statement in the process.

"I hope that the impression that everyone that sees the next Sports Illustrated swimsuit is that strong and healthy is the new sexy," she revealed in a behind-the-scenes video just released on the magazine's website. "[Also] that the standard of women's bodies is going into a realistic and socially healthy direction."

The important message comes from a UFC champion who wasn't exactly sure what to do when the photoshoots began near the beach. After all, she's used to a hobby called martial arts.

"I'm not the best model in the world," she confessed. "I try my best. I had to hone in some acting skills to look comfortable. Hopefully they showed in the pictures."

They sure did! Whether posing topless in the sand or showing off one of her signature fighting moves from the ring, the 28-year-old certainly grabbed the attention of many readers.

And while she wasn't expecting to be offered a spot in the annual issue, she's so glad she said yes to the gig.

"I was so happy to have this opportunity," she shared with the publication. "I really do believe that there shouldn't just be one cookie cutter body type that everyone is aspiring to be."
