InstagramRichard Sherman may not have that second Super Bowl ring yet, but he can call 2015 a resounding success nonetheless.
The Seattle Seahawks' star cornerback welcomed a baby boy early this morning, his first child with girlfriend Ashley Moss. The outspoken athlete took to Twitter to announce the happy news, which came just days after he suffered what had to have been the biggest heartbreak of his NFL career.
"My son sure does know how to make an entrance! 2/5/15... Is it a coincidence or is he just that clever?!" raved the proud new dad, who if you hadn't guessed by now wears No. 25 for the Seahawks. "Either way I'm ecstatic."
"Haven't felt anything better than this! Thank you God such a blessing!" he added.
And while Sherman didn't immediately announce his son's name via social media, Sports Illustrated's Peter King spilled the beans. (Spoiler: The baby was named neither "Pete" nor "Carroll.")
"Congrats to Richard Sherman and his girlfriend on the birth of son Rayden this morning," King tweeted.
So there you have it. No word on the middle name, but Moss had previously told Washington's KING-TV that their kid would have the same initials as Sherman, R.K.S., the Stanford-educated athlete's middle name being Kevin.
Just days before giving birth, Moss was in the house to support her man on Super Bowl Sunday, sharing pics from her trip to Arizona on Instagram. While Gisele Bündchen's bedazzled Patriots jersey may have gotten all the attention, Moss also brought the glitz in her Sherman 25 varsity jacket.
