Marvel's AKA Jessica Jones just got even more geek cred. Carrie-Anne Moss of The Matrix fame has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix series, Marvel announced.

Moss, who played Trinity in the series of films opposite Keanu Reeves, will play a "no-nonsense woman" who may be a powerful ally to Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter)..."if Jessica doesn't completely alienate her first." The cast of the comic book adaptation also includes David Tennant as the villainous Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Rachael Taylor as Patricia "Trish" Walker.

The 13-episode series about a former superhero who turns in her tights and becomes a private detective after a series of tragic events is set to debut in 2015 on Netflix. Melissa Rosenberg is behind the project.

"Throughout her career, Carrie-Anne has embodied a wide range of characters in a compelling and relatable way and I have no doubt she will bring that talent to AKA Jessica Jones," Rosenberg said in a statement.

AKA Jessica Jones is set to debut later this year after Daredevil, which bows in April.

"Carrie-Anne has proven her ability to play complex characters with deep and layered inner lives," Jeph Loeb, executive producer and Marvel's head of television, said in a statement. "Her interaction with Jessica Jones will be one of the many highlights of the series."
