The upcoming series The Royals, which is centered around a fictional modern-day British royal family, is full of surprises!
In addition to starring Elizabeth Hurley as Queen Helena, legendary Dynasty actress Dame Joan Collins has a very special role on the show—she will be playing Hurley's mother!
While chatting with Ross Mathews at the 2015 SAG Awards, Joan gave the scoop on her exciting new role: "I play, I think they call them a 'momager' these days," she said. "A woman who controls the whole group of insane scandal-ridden families, starting with Elizabeth Hurley and her two really naughty teenagers."
"The show is beautiful, right?" Ross asked. "It's a little hoity-toity because of that world but it's drama, right?"
"It's very dramatic, it's very funny," she revealed. "It's very beautifully written, the sets are to die for. The sets—you really feel like you're in Buckingham Palace."
