James Caan Files for Divorce From His Wife for the Third Time in 10 Years

Actor was married three times prior to his current wife

Maybe third time's a charm?

James Caan has just filed for divorce from his wife Linda Caan, E! News can confirm, which would mark the couple's third time splitting.

The two first married on Oct. 7, 1995, and were later married again in 2005 and 2009. TMZ is currently reporting that the Godfather actor does not have a prenup with Linda.

James filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles on Jan. 8, asking for joint custody of their one minor son, Jacob, 16.

James and Linda have one other son together, a 19-year-old named James.

This isn't the first, er, third time that James has been divorced, either.

The beloved actor was married to Dee Jay Mattis from 1960 to 1966,  to Sheila Marie Ryan from 1976 to 1977 and to Ingrid Hajek from 1990 to1995.

It's been a pretty jam-packed week for shocking divorce news stemming out of Hollywood, too.

Just a few days ago, E! News learned that Patrick Dempsey and his wife, Jillian Fink, had called it quits after more than 15 years of marriage.

On top of that, Mandy Moore and her rocker beau Ryan Adams announced their divorce after being marriage for nearly six years.

"Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost 6 years," reps for the duo said in a joint statement. "It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time."
