It's no secret that Gigi Hadid is taking the modeling world by storm, but aside from her career in front of the camera, the 19-year-old is dealing with her mother Yolanda Foster's devastating illness.

"You know it's hard, especially with something like Lyme Disease, not a lot of people know about it, especially doctors so they don't really know how to help, medical wise," Hadid tells E! News. "So it's really hard for me and my siblings to know how we could help, but I guess just being supportive is the best way we can do it."

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is currently in Korea trying to seek treatment, so Gigi tries to cheer her mama up with some FaceTime.

"You can tell how much it means to her when, during a lunch break on a shoot, I'll FaceTime her and talk to her about how my day's going. I think just the little things like that is what's helping her get through it," she adds.

Gigi, who lives in New York, signed to IMG Models in 2011, and revealed that when it comes to body image, she made one thing very clear from the get-go.

"I've kinda had an easy time with the whole body image thing, just because from the second I walked into IMG, I was like, 'This is what I wanna do with my career, but the one thing is that I'm not gonna lose a certain amount of weight. I'm not gonna be extremely skinny.' I just don't want to do that," she explains.

"I've always been an athlete. I've always had a certain body type that I've always been happy with and I didn't wanna let that go for a career." Get it, girl!

Hadid also has a pretty famous circle of friends. Some of whom are also well-known models (ahem, Kendall Jenner.)

The blue-eyed beauty explains that her family and Kendall's famous fam have known each other for years, but the duo never had an opportunity to hang out as children. "We've only been friends for like a year now, but she's one of my best friends. She's so awesome."

And no, it doesn't get competitive.

"I was always kinda told that when I was becoming a model, don't live with a model because you get competitive…but I don't really find that I get competitive with my friends, especially with someone like Kendall…we look nothing alike. So someone that's gonna want a Kendall is not gonna want a Gigi," she says.

Hadid also talked to E! News about her relationship with crooning cutie Cody Simpson, and revealed how the super-busy pair make it work.

"I think it's all about planning, just making sure that we're both very aware of each other's schedules because then in advance you can kinda see where things might work out and meet together," she says, and adds that although they will do something for Valentine's Day, it won't really be much different than every other day.

"He's very romantic, so I feel like he's romantic all year round so Valentine's Day is just another…yeah, it's all good."
