Blame in-flight WiFi! SkyMall LLC, the airplane catalog company best known for a staggeringly long list of bizarre products that cost way too much, officially filed for bankruptcy today.
According to Bloomberg, the catalog was suspended immediately as execs seek out a buyer to lift the company out of its financial plunder. It seems that with more and more customers tuning in to their seat-back entertainment system or cruising the Internet on flights nowadays, that ol' failsafe SkyMall simply fell to the wayside. And, it probably has a little something to do with the fact that it sold products that most humans will never actually use.
