So You Think You Can Dance is getting some new star power this season!

Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo will join veteran Nigel Lythgoe at the judges' table for season 12, E! News has learned. Cat Deeley will return as host for the new season, which will also feature a new twist in the competition: stage dancers vs. street dancers.

"With the new and exciting format comes a new and exciting panel of judges," executive producer/judge Lythgoe says. "I'm delighted that Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo will be joining me at the judges' table this season on So You Think You Can Dance. Paula is an incredible artist and she brings the perfect combination of expertise and heart to the panel. Jason's insight, humor and creativity will add a new perspective to the panel that we haven't had before."

E! New previously revealed that Abdul was in talks to replace veteran judge Mary Murphy on the Fox show.

"I have dedicated a large part of my career as a choreographer to discovering and mentoring some of the most iconic artists and performers from all over the world," Abdul says.  "So You Think You Can Dance has a long-standing history of launching brilliant careers for young choreographers and dancers in the industry. It's going to be a true honor and pleasure joining this panel with Jason and Nigel, and I'm looking forward to an exciting new season!"

Derulo also says that he is "truly excited, and eagerly look forward to joining the cast of So You Think You Can Dance. It is one of the most respected and longest-tenured shows on network television, and I hope to be a part of new growth and continued success."

After the show decided not to renew Murphy's contract, Fox boss Gary Newman told E! News that they "wish Mary well" in whatever she does next.

"We love Mary. She was a huge part of that show," Newman said. "She was a great advocate for the show and advocate for the network. We wish Mary well and she really was a great partner over the years, but we just felt the show needed to be shaken up a bit. We worked with our producers and are trying to do that."

The first round of season 12 auditions will take place in NYC this weekend. The open auditions are on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom & Hammerstein Ballroom (311 W. 34th Street). The judges callbacks are on Sunday and Monday.
