Transitioning from child star to multi-hyphenate is never an easy feat—and Victoria Justice is all too aware.

The 21-year-old beauty, who shot to stardom thanks to her roles in Nickelodeon shows such as Victorious and Zooey 101, is currently making a big career leap with her new MTV series, Eye Candy, in which she plays a computer genius who goes on the hunt for a serial killer.

"I think the fans have been reacting really great to this transition," Justice told E! News when she stopped by the studio on Wednesday (be sure to check out the full interview tonight!). "Coming from Nickelodeon, I started on that network when I was 12 years old and I'm 21 now, so I feel like lots of the people who were watching me on Zooey 101 and Victorious have kind of grown up with me.

"So I feel like they're ready to see me in a role like this," she continued, adding. "And I'm definitely ready to take on a role like this, so the support has been amazing."

During her chat, Justice couldn't help but gush over her fans, who she called "so kind" and she even dished on her very first love scene onscreen, which she called "tastefully done" (tune in tonight for the full scoop!).

Asked whether the brunette stunner is worried about alienating her younger fan base due to the dark nature of the series, she admitted the dramatic content may not be appropriate for all ages.

"Eye Candy is definitely a show that's geared toward teens and young adults and above, so it's not necessarily that young audience," she said before adding, "I mean if you're parents say it's OK to watch it then awesome, but it's….definitely much darker, it's scary, suspenseful and creepy. So, beware!"

While Justice is currently departing from her child star image, other stars, like Miley Cyrus, have successfully made the transition, although they've often found themselves on the receiving end of backlash as a result.

"I don't think it's fair to criticize people for the career choices they're making," she said. "Obviously you may not agree with what they're doing or like it or share the same opinion as them. But at the end of the day, transitioning from a child star to an adult is a tricky thing. Everyone is different and trying to be true to themselves and follow their own path. I think that's all you can really do is try and do what's best for you."

Wise words from a young actress, who also admitted she loves starring on the MTV series. "She's a really strong female character, she's really fierce and determined and pretty badass!" she said of her latest role. "I've gotten to do more stunts than I've ever done in my life."
