New year, new lease on life? We hope that's the case for Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler!

Last month, the onetime Meet the Barkers stars were both cuffed and briefly detained by police after threatening via text message to kill each other, according to court documents newly released and obtained today by E! News.

According to a child custody evalutiaon filed in L.A. Superior Court on Dec. 24, Barker and Moakler still live at the same residence with their kids despite having divorced in 2008 after four years of marriage and attempting but failing to fully rekindle their relationship the following year. They broke up for good in 2012, per a declaration from Moakler included in the filing.

The pair are parents to son Landon and daughter Alabama together, while Moakler is also mom to teenage daughter Atiana with ex Oscar de la Hoya.

"Go f--k yourself Shanna. I pay u way too much in child support and I'm gonna get that fixed. You don't do me favors," Barker texted his ex close to a year ago, according to a copy of mutliple nasty exchanges included in the filing, the two apparently arguing over his wish to take their kids on tour with him.

"There isn't a judge in the united states who is gonna say I have to let my kids go for 3 months on a rock tour!" Moakler replied.

Accusing her of having an illegal immigrant for a nanny, Barker continues in the text exchange, "Bitch I hate u, all this makes me even hate u more. Feed the fire. You'll regret all of this, I'll enjoy it."

And the mud-slinging gets so much worse.

Barker subsequently filed for custody of Landon and Alabama, and Moakler, according to court documents, responded with a demand that all involved be given full psychological assessments and undergo counseling. A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 10.

In her declaration, Moakler states that on Dec. 7, 2014, the four of them were having lunch and Barker told her that he wanted the kids to be on a reality show with him and the children "seemed excited."

Claiming that Barker has habitually threatened to withhold child support if she didn't do as he said and that he had refused to let the kids be on reality shows with their mom, Moakler further states that she told the kids that she and their dad would have to discuss it.

Once at home, Landon sent her a hurtful text message that made her cry, Moakler's declaration continues, after which a fight ensued and Barker screamed at her things like "All you're good at is sucking d--k" and "If I could, I'd put a bullet in your head."

Moakler started to leave the house with Alabama in tow, her statement continues, and Barker followed her outside, threatening to call the police. Instead, per her declaration, Moakler called the police and when she told one of the responding officers about Barker's bullet comment, the officer advised her that that was a threat and he'd be placing Barker under arrest.

According to Moakler, Barker then told the cops that she had threatened to have her boyfriend come over and beat him up, so the officers informed her that they were taking her into custody as well.

After they were both interviews by police and representatives from the L.A. County Department of Child and Family Services, Barker and Moakler were released and have not since been charged with any crimes.

The DCFS investigation into the family's home life is reportedly ongoing.

Reps for Moakler and Barker have not returned requests for comment.
