Tom Arnold went on the offensive Tuesday.

During a SiriusXM chat with shock jock Howard Stern, Arnold took Malin Akerman's ex-husband Roberto Zincone to task for divorcing the actress, with whom he co-stars in Yahoo's Sin City Saints. The exes got married in June 2007, welcomed son Sebastian in April 2013 and broke up in November 2013.

Arnold commended the former Trophy Wife actress, 36, for handling her sudden breakup with aplomb. "She's a single mom. Her deal—and I probably shouldn't talk about her—but...I have so much respect for her. She is such an amazing woman. You know, her husband, they're together 10 years, they have a baby, [and] four months in, he's like, 'I'm done.' So, she not only pays him alimony to take care of this guy, but I watched her as a mother, and I was like, 'This is the most inspiring woman. I'm not gonna complain about anything in my life.' Because she is incredible," the actor raved. "She is an inspiration."

Stern quipped that Arnold would probably try to date Akerman if he were single.

"Yeah, she'd never go out with me," the married actor replied.

Akerman, for her part, has not spoken publicly about her divorce. Still, the Comeback star remains optimistic about her prospects, as her recent Instagram caption proves. "I leave 2014 with much to be #thankful for...My son, I thank you for showing me what true love actually is meant to feel like. My amazing friends, my wonderful family and my fans, thank you for standing by me. Thankful for all the ups and downs that have helped me grow as a person and shown me how much more learning I have to do...which is exciting!" she wrote on Dec. 31. "This life, this world, it's a blank canvas and you can paint it in whatever colors, shapes and forms you chose...so, what is your painting gonna look like for 2015...?"
