Calling all Catfish obsessives...the MTV docu-series that tackles the world of online dating is going to look very different this season.
Max Joseph, the Catfish cameraman and Nev Schulman's partner-in-crime, is leaving the show for five episodes in the upcoming fourth season, the network announced during its 2015 TCA Winter Press Tour presentation.
So why is he taking such a long hiatus from the show? MTV President Susanne Daniels revealed that Joseph had to take the time off to make his feature film directorial debut with We Are Your Friends starring Zac Efron—and hey, we totally can't fault him for that!
Taking Joseph's place behind the camera to help Schulman out during those five episodes will be celebrity guest hosts/detectives.
YouTube personality Tyler Oakley, Guy Code's Charlamagne Tha God and Miss Teen USA Cassidy Wolf, recording artist Angel Haze, and actor Alex Shaffer will be among the guest hosts filling in for Joseph until he returns for the remainder of the season.
Catfish season four premieres Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
The network also announced the return date of its hit kidnapping drama Finding Carter. Season two will premiere Tuesday, March 31 at 10 p.m.
It will pick up immediately after the events of the season one finale, where Carter (Kathryn Prescott) woke up to realize her "mother"/kidnapper Lori (Milena Govich) drugged and kidnapped her against her will...again.
"The drama picks up right where it was left, in the back of Lori's car with the kidnapped Carter more scared than ever," MTV's official synopsis for season two says. "This season we follow Carter and the rest of her family and friends as they face new obstacles and learn more about the secrets long hidden from them."
