Getty, APIf the 2015 Golden Globes taught us anything, it's that a chic dark mani can do wonders on the red carpet.
Stars stepped out for the start of a promising award season in trends that included statement gowns in classic Americana colors, iridescent dresses and sexy cut-out styles. We kept our eyes peeled for statement nail looks on the red carpet, and noticed dark black hues, rose pinks and deep berry or navy polishes as the major color story for the night.
We were particularly taken with Jennifer Lopez's rose-gold stiletto nails, which nicely offset her slit-to-there (and, well, plunging-to-there) Zuhair Murad gown. Lopez's manicurist Tom Bachik was also responsible for Jennifer Aniston's deep crimson mani.
Other celeb mani trends included ombré nails, which Katie Holmes wore to perfection. The star showcased a dove gray to metallic mani that paired well with her plum-hued Marchesa dress. And while Kerry Washington's Mary Katrantzou frock left us scratching our heads, we were all for her shimmering navy manicure.
