It will remain forever unknown how much more musical magic Elvis Presley had in him if he had lived past the tragically young age of 42.

The "King of Rock and Roll" died in 1977, but the celebrations of his legacy continue—and today Elvis' family gathered at Graceland to mark what would have been his 80th birthday.

Former wife Priscilla Presley, daughter Lisa Marie Presley and Lisa Marie's four children, including Riley Keough, presided over Elvis Presley Day at the famed Memphis estate, where Elvis is buried and which has since been turned into a museum. The fam and hundreds of fans who braved the frosty weather to honor the King sang "Happy Birthday" and had a chance to sample an eight-tier, gold-trimmed cake decorated with images of Elvis' famed silhouette rocking out.

Elvis' grandkids include Riley and Benjamin Keough and their half-sister and half-brother, Harper and Finley Lockwood, Lisa Marie's twins with fourth husband Michael Lockwood.

"My gosh, I'm in total shock," Priscilla told the crowd, adding that Elvis "would have been amazed" to see "so many of you here."

"There's really nowhere else we'd rather be," Lisa Marie also said.

Of course, those gathered in Memphis were just a tiny fraction of those who were paying tribute to Elvis all over the world.

Out in L.A., Jessica Biel whipped up a special breakfast for hubby Justin Timberlake in honor of Elvis' 80th (spoiler alert: bananas and peanut butter were involved), J.T. sharing the fruits of her labor on Instagram:

And the tributes continued...

And because the music will live forever, Spotify today launched the Elvis Influence web app, which identifies and connects other artists to Elvis based on musical influences, and the Elvisualization audiographic, which maps his influence on today's artists. It's never a bad time for the pop princes and princesses of today to get in touch with their roots.

Long live the King's memory!
