Oh, the shade!

Iggy Azalea beat out some major competition—namely, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Jay Z and even her mentor T.I.—when she took home the award for Favorite Hip Hop artist at the People's Choice Awards last night, but instead of garnering attention for her accolade, the Australian rapper is making headlines for what went down prior to her acceptance speech.

The 24-year-old "Fancy" beauty's honor was introduced by Parenthood stars Dax Shephard and Monica Potter, who took a moment to rattle off a list of her favorite rap artists, including "Dr. Drew" and "Igloo Australia."

While we presume the joke was meant to be harmless, viewers immediately took notice of the moniker mishap, as it's the same name Azealia Banks previously called the hitmaker in a racially fueled Twitter war about appropriating black culture following the grand jury decision in the Eric Garner case.

Despite the diss, Iggy was all smiles while accepting her award, seemingly taking the joke in stride as she even managed to slip in her own quip aimed at Shephard.

"You look much, much, much better in person," the blond beauty said with her trophy in hand after telling the audience that she was up late watching Kristen Bell's hubby on TV.

Meanwhile, Iggy, who performed her hit "Beg For It" last night at the annual award show, has yet to comment on Potter's shady remark but she recently opened up about the endless critics that continues to plague her persona in an interview with Vanity Fair

"People have said I'm not real rap or real hip-hop," the chart-topper said. "But I don't care if people think I'm pop or rap. Everyone interprets music differently."

Asked if she ever questioned whether it was "weird for a white Australian girl to be a rapper," the musicians replied, "I never thought it was strange. If you go back to the Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley and Eminem—they've all basically done black music. I felt this wasn't that far from what we've seen in music history over and over again."
