Well isn't this a classic mother-daughter show down!

Anna Faris and Allison Janney, who co-star as a mother-daughter duo in the hit sitcom Mom, took to the People's Choice Awards stage last night to host the evening's event. And while you might expect TV-daughter to upstage TV-mother, that was not the case. Let's examine.

On the red carpet, 55-year-old Janney crushed all competition in a sparkling silver Rani Zakhem gown that showcased her killer physique. And that wasn't the last time she broke out sparkles, as she later opted for a black halter gown with delicate crystal embroidery.

In yet another body-hugging number, the former West Wing star turned up the heat in a fiery red mini with sheer illusion side panels. Then there was the white pantsuit—a huge trend of the night—that both Janney and Faris sported for a skit. As for who wore the tailored number better? That's for you to decide, folks.

For her final wardrobe change, Janney switch things up with a draped teal gown with a silver crescent embellishment.  

Onto Anna—her two-piece Juan Carlos Obando ruffled number did show off her toned figure, but the outfit itself felt awkward. She quickly recouped with a mesmerizing sequined gown for the show's opening, which she later swapped out for another metallic mini in the form of a long-sleeved gold number.

Anna later spiced things up with a citrusy Georges Hobeika crepe top and skirt combo with intricate floral embroidery. And as we previously mentioned, she radiated alongside Janney in a sharp white pantsuit.
