Nick and Vanessa Lachey's Daughter Isn't the Only Brooklyn—These Celeb Baby Names Have Major Influence, Too!

Monikers like Ava, Sophia, Noah and Mason have also increased in popularity thanks in part to the stars' kids

Nick and Vanessa Lachey are the latest stars to hop on the celeb baby name bandwagon! Reason being? They're calling their little lady Brooklyn, the ever-rising name du jour!

Obviously Brooklyn Beckham kicked off this trend back in 1999, but the New York-inspired name has really taken off in recent years. According to data released by the Social Security Administration, the name Brooklyn went from being No. 912 in 1984 to being in the top 30 baby names for the past three years. (Brooklyn Decker, BTW, thank your parents: They were hipster-levels ahead of the trend when they named you that in '87!)

According to SSA data, Sophia was the most common female name in 2013 (Jude Law, Christopher Meloni, and Benjamin Bratt all have one in their brood) followed by Emma (Jennifer Aniston's Rachel haircut might have gone out of style, but her Friends' baby's name is still in!). Isabella came in at No. 3 (don't worry, Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso named their daughter this before the Twilight phenomenon), with Ava close behind (Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe should get some credit on this one—their Ava, born in 1999, helped bring the old-fashioned moniker back in vogue).

And when it comes to baby boy names, the stars are still setting the trends. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green's son Noah has the most common male name for 2013, according to recent data, with names like Liam (who doesn't have a Liam in the family?), Jacob (possibly a leftover Twilight trend?) and Mason (thank you Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick) following suit.

Other celeb baby names with rising popularity include George (obviously, thanks in part to Prince George), Harper (props to Harper Beckham here), and while it's too early for the data to reflect it, we're guessing Wyatt will skyrocket thanks in part to Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' little lady.

Violets, Bears, Charlottes and Disney-inspired names aren't in the top 10 yet, either, but if you name your daughter Briar Rose, don't count on her being the only one in her class. If that happens, though, it's OK: We can't all be a North West or Blue Ivy!
