Stuart Scott Dies at Age 49: ESPN Anchor Mourned on Twitter by Celebs Such As Samuel L. Jackson and Major Sports Leagues

The longtime sports TV personality and father of two daughters passed away on Jan. 4 after battling cancer for years

Celebrities such as actor Samuel L. Jackson, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick took to Twitter on Sunday to mourn the death of longtime ESPN anchor Stuart Scott, who died that morning at age 49.

The sports TV personality and father of two daughters passed away on Jan. 4 after battling cancer on and off since 2007.

Major professional sports leagues also paid their respects to Scott, one of ESPN's most popular anchors who often hosted the network's flagship program SportsCenter and was known for his many catchphrases, including "Boo-Yah!"

His former SportsCenter co-anchor, Rich Eisen of the NFL Network, paid tribute to his late friend in a tearful and beautiful speech on TV.
