Ryan Seacrest kicked off this year by locking lips with one of the most famous women in the world. So why not make it a tradition?!
So figures Jenny McCarthy, his Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2015 co-host, who has her eye on a certain someone to be on the other end of Ryan's midnight kiss. And maybe more?
Asked if she was planning to return the favor since Ryan helped hook her up with now-husband Donnie Wahlberg, Jenny told E! News this morning, "Now I have to do that, I promise you. I think Taylor Swift would be perfect."
Hmmm?
Well, Jenny's choice is also presumably a matter of convenience, since Taylor is headlining ABC's New Year's bash, broadcasting live from Times Square.
"'Cause Miley kissed you last year and they missed it on camera," Jenny lamented, referring to Ryan's perfectly well-documented lip-lock with last year's headliner, Miley Cyrus.
"They did? She did? That happened?" a bemused Seacrest replied. "It was the first kiss I had in 2015, I guess. Or 2014."
"Miye Cyrus, not bad," McCarthy mused. "So Taylor Swift this year, I'm going to make it happen."
"If they work out, you just hooked them up," E!'s Alicia Quarles pointed out.
"I don't think that will be the story, but thank you," Seacrest demured, ever the diplomat.
Well, don't think we won't be on the lookout at midnight for a kiss, regardless!
As for McCarthy, she knows who she'll be puckering up for at midnight, of course.
"I can't kiss strangers anymore, per my husband's request," she explained. So hubby Donnie Wahlberg it is!

Elton John will be performing remotely from Brooklyn and Gavin DeGraw and Lady Antebellum will be piped in from Nashville.
