New Year's Eve is upon us, and you better believe we want to look good. (Because saying hello to 2015 with last year's hair is faux pas territory, right?)

This year, we've been closely watching the red carpet and noting our favorite style and beauty trends. But now we're left with pressing questions, like which will look best on us as we watch the clock tick down to midnight. For this reason, we rounded up some of our favorite statement looks from celebs all year: With these ladies as inspiration, you can enter 2015 with a new beauty look to match that revitalized New Year's outlook, of course.

Hair
Some of the best bets for chic New Year's Eve locks include a simple, no-fuss updo (made even chicer with a bejeweled headpiece, as seen on actress Margot Robbie) and clean top-knot bun à la Jaime King (all the better to show off those sparkly drop earrings you've been holding out until 2015 for). And while we've already obsessed over Meta Golding's Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1 premiere look, we also want to recreate the high fishtail braid that she sported to the event.

And if you've gone lob-length for the New Year, there are options for you too: Either straight and face-framing, like Rose Byrne's blunt chop, or sleek pinned waves (Diane Kruger-style).

Lips
If 2014 was all about the statement lip, next year will ring in the goes-without-saying pout. We mean that we hope to see more fearless lip colors both on and off the red carpet, and especially on New Year's Eve. Take Joan Smalls, who successfully wore an electric violet hue to the Met Gala back in May. Rihanna is always the crusader of a vampy crimson pout (to awesome effect), but we also have a soft spot for bright red lips (which look classic and classy on Lily Collins). And look no further than Taylor Swift for a quick how-to on magenta mouths. Another beautiful lip color outlier: Tangerine-orange (worn to perfection by Olivia Munn), which would look great against an iridescent gold dress.

Nails
Make this NYE about simple (but still bold) nail hues: We're talking shimmering shades of navy (a go-to for Jennifer Lopez), steel gray (so subtle on Anne Hathaway) and galactic black (which went well against a metallic gown for Selena Gomez). Or if you're in the mood to pop a little: Try a ripe orange-red, as worn by Reese Witherspoon, or a two-tone silver and emerald green mani, like the one Kate Hudson wore to the 2014 Baby2Baby Gala.

What beauty look will you be wearing on New Year's Eve?
