It's no secret that everyone is anxiously awaiting Lifetime's next biopic all about the roller coaster ride that was Whitney Houston's life.

And thanks to this E! News exclusive clip from Whitney, the wait for the TV movie just got that much harder!

Check out our exclusive sneak peek above to see the moment that changed the iconic singer's life forever...the day that Bobby Brown proposed to her!

It's almost eerie seeing how happy and carefree the young Houston was back then, unaware of all the obstacles she'll encounter later in life.

Directed by American Horror Story's Angela Bassett, with America's Next Top Model veteran and Lee Daniels' The Butler actress Yaya DaCosta starring as the iconic singer and Arlen Escarpeta as Brown, the movie charts Houston's climb to the top of the charts and her tumultuous relationship with Brown, and the first promo for the flick made it clear that the film won't shy away from Houston's drug problems.

Bassett recently told E! News she hopes viewers come away from the movie with a deeper understanding about love.

"I think we as fans, audience…those that looked on—we thought we had some say in it. We really didn't have any say in their love affair," she said. "The say we have is of ourselves and our capacity to love, to love ourselves, to love one another and to just spread more love and joy in this world. But we really thought we had a say in their love affair…I think it's a magnificent journey and I hope it will be a reflection into our own lives."

This is just the latest in biopics for Lifetime. The network recently aired movies based on Saved by the Bell, Aaliyah, Brittany Murphy and Gabby Douglas.

Whitney premieres Saturday, Jan. 17, at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
