It looks like the magic of Christmas brought Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett and Hank Baskett back together—temporarily, at least.

The twosome put on a united front Tuesday when they took Hank Jr. and baby Alijah to Calabasas Tree Farm to pick out the family's Christmas tree!  It was a smiley, fun-filled afternoon, and as one eyewitness told E! News exclusively, Kendra and Hank "seemed like they [were] trying to move forward and put their past behind them."

And although the day was "all about the kids having a good time and [all four of them] spending time as a family," an onlooker noted that Hank was "very courteous" to Kendra too, "opening the doors for [her] and making sure she was OK."

VIDEO: Yikes! Kendra and Hank have a huge fight

"Kendra and Hank were constantly smiling," said a witness. "The two were very nice to everyone. They seem like they are in a good place [and] look really happy."

The family of four spent an hour and a half looking for a tree, said an onlooker, who noted everyone "was in a good mood, laughing and running around." At one point, Hank was chasing Kendra, "and they both were laughing really hard!"

Kendra, who just recently returned from Australia where she filmed I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, "looked really good," said an onlooker, "and happy to be back from her travels."

The mom of two told her family she wanted "a short and stubby tree," which made Hank laugh. But you know what kind of tree they ended up with? A short and stubby one!

It was clear that Hank Jr., 4, and Alijah, 7 months, "were happy," said a witness. "The little girl is amazing—she has the most crystal clear blue eyes. Alijah loves her dad--she stares at him like he is the greatest thing in the world!"

Hank Jr. takes after his dad, too, and is "very tall for his age," noted an onlooker. "He is 4, but he looks 6," and adorable, too, we might add!

But things weren't quite as picture perfect as they appeared to be. Hank was wearing his wedding band, but Kendra hasn't returned to wearing hers just yet.

It might take a holiday miracle
