And then there were three four.

Though only three finalists were voted through to The Voice's finals, one of the nine eliminated contestants received the second chance of a lifetime after winning the NBC reality hit's wildcard slot. The singer still in it to win it? Damien Lawson from Adam Levine's team, who performed an emotional rendition of "Grenade" after being eliminated on Tuesday's results show.

The wildcard reveal went down on The Today Show on Wednesday morning, with Damien surprising his three fellow finalists and host Carson Daly

"The #VoiceWildcard finalist is Damien Lawson (@iamdamienmusic)! Congrats," Today tweeted

Damien is the first-ever wildcard on the show, and expressed his gratitude to his fans on Twitter. "Thank you America for giving me another chance," he wrote. "This moment will stay in my heart forever! Love you guys!"

Still left in the competition to battle it out with Damien? Blake Shelton's Craig Wayne Boyd and Levine's Matt McAndrew and Chris Jamison, with the latter winning the Twitter instant save last week. Looks like Levine has lady luck on his team, too!

That means new coaches Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams are both out of the competition, with the bromantic buddies, Shelton and Levine, going head-to-head in the finals.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
