Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon are coming together for Big Little Lies…but you won't see this on the big screen. E! News can confirm the two will star in the limited series from David E. Kelley that is currently being shopped around to perspective homes.

The limited series, penned by The Practice's Kelley, is based on the Liane Moriarty book of the same name. The book hit shelves in July 2014. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the limited series is only being shopped to cable and streaming networks. In August, Deadline reported Kidman and Witherspoon had optioned the film rights to the book with the intent to star.

In Big Little Lies, the lives of three mothers of young children start to unravel after a murder-mystery that happens during a parents' night at the elementary school fundraiser.

Kidman and her Blossom Films, as well as Witherspoon and her Pacific Standard, will serve as executive producers alongside Kelley and original novel writer Moriarty.

Kelley's recent TV work includes The Crazy Ones with Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar. His other credits include Picket Fences, Harry's Law and Ally McBeal.

Witherspoon's other TV credits include early TV movies and voice roles on shows such as The Simpsons and King of the Hill. Kidman got her start on Australian TV and recently appeared in HBO's Hemingway & Gellhorn.

Kidman and Witherspoon are just the latest movie stars to come to the small screen. Jessica Lange is now in her fourth season of American Horror Story, currently costarring opposite Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey starred in the first season of True Detective and will be succeeded by Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and (possibly) Rachel McAdams.

Kidman took home an Oscar for The Hours and Witherspoon for Walk the Line. Kelley has 10 Emmys to his name.
