Bill Cosby Lawyer: Actress' Claim That Comedian Assaulted Her at Tonight Show in 1971 Is "Ridiculous," Wild Story

Another Bill Cosby accuser has stepped up.

Actress Louisa Moritz, 68, told TMZ in an intervew posted tonight that, while she was waiting in the green room to make an appearance on The Tonight Show in 1971, Cosby exposed himself, put his hands behind her head and forced her mouth over his penis.

The story prompted a swift response from Cosby attorney Martin Singer, who slammed Moritz's allegation—the latest in a series of decades-old claims from multiple women that have resurfaced in the last couple of weeks—as "ridiculous."

"We've reached a point of absurdity," Singer said in a statement obtained by NBC News. "The stories are getting more ridiculous.

"Now this woman is claiming that something occurred more than 40 years ago and that while she was waiting in the dressing room to appear on The Tonight Show, my client forced his penis into her mouth. I think these people are trying to come up with these wild stories in order to justify why they have waited 40 or 50 years to disclose these ridiculous allegations."

Singer continued: "The credibility of these stories is belied by the fact that Ms. Moritz claims that she is now a practicing lawyer, according to her official website and her iMDB page, but she is actually prohibited from practicing law after she admitted violating the Rules of Professional Conduct in her legal practice and was disciplined with public reproval by the State Bar to protect the public."

In response to Singer's statement, TMZ stated that they looked into the attorney's assertion and documents showed that Moritz is apparently barred from practicing law due to failure to report various quarterly reports. No other details were forthcoming.

In 1971, at the time of her Tonight Show appearance, Moritz was on the TV comedy Love, American Style. She amassed dozens of TV credits throughout the 1970s and 1980s on shows such as The Rockford Files, Chico and the Man, One Day at a Time and The Incredible Hulk.

She also played Rose in Milos Forman's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which won five Oscars, including Best Picture, in 1976.

While Cosby's lawyers have shot down the various stories that have resurfaced, the comedian and former sitcom star himself has remained silent, refusing to comment on the allegations when the topic has been broached in his most recent interviews.
