Longmire is the latest canceled series to be resurrected by Netflix. E! News has confirmed that the streaming site has decided to air a fourth season of the canceled A&E series, which will consist of 10 new episodes that will premiere in 2015, after reaching a deal with Warner Horizon Television.
"We're excited and honored to have the opportunity to bring this show that we love so much, and all its devoted fans, to Netflix," Longmire's executive producers said in a joint statement.
"When Warner Horizon Television came to us with the idea for a new season of Longmire, we were intrigued because the series is so unique, and consistently great," Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content at Netflix, said in a statement. "We are thrilled to help continue Walt Longmire's story for his large and passionate following."
Talk of Netflix saving Longmire began late last week. The show's final episode on A&E had 3.7 million viewers.
Longmire isn't the first series to be saved from cancellation by Netflix. Arrested Development returned for a fourth season on the site, which also gave The Killing, a canceled AMC drama, a final fourth season.
The show stars Robert Taylor, Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff and Lou Diamond Phillips, as well as Cassidy Freeman, Bailey Chase and Adam Bartley. Fans can expect season four to pick up moments after the end of the season three finale.
