Sick of too many Scrooges around Christmas time? Apparently, Kirk Cameron has a solution.

The Growing Pains alum headed to Facebook Tuesday afternoon with a strong message for women across the country. If you want a happy holiday season, it's up to you to bring the joy.

"If you are a mom, if you are a wife, if you are the keeper of your home, I want you to know that your joy is so important this Christmas," he shared on social media. "Christmas is about joy and if the joy of the Lord is your strength, remember the joy of the mom is her children's strength."

He continued, "Don't let anything steal your joy. If you let your joy get stolen, it will sap your strength."

So what exactly can women do to ensure the upcoming season is a happy one? Apparently, there's a lot to do around the house.

"Let your children, your family, see your joy in the way you decorate your home this Christmas in the food that you cook, the songs you sing, the stories you tell and the traditions that you keep," he shared. "Invite your whole neighborhood into your Christmas and invite the world into our story of our king and his kingdom."

So why is Cameron sharing all these Christmas guidelines? For starters, the actor is a proud devout Christian who attended Jessa Duggar's wedding and recently shared his disapproval of gay weddings.

In addition, his new movie titled Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas is being released Friday in select theatres.  According to the film's official website, the holiday film has a goal to glorify the true "reason for the season."

"We need to bring the joy back to Christmas," he shared on the Today show earlier this week. "There's a lot of bah, humbugs out there."
