We all know otters are one of the cutest creatures known to man. They are playful and intelligent. They look cute trying to crack open mussels and crabs against a rock. And, to top it all off, they hold hands while sleeping so they don't drift apart. [Faints from cuteness.]
So imagine our delight (go on, imagine it!) when we saw video of this li'l sea otter pup who was rescued and taken in by the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
"How do you apply for a job rescuing tiny otters?" you may ask. Our answer is:Back off, because the job is ours.
In honor of this pup's entrance to the world of Internet viral videos, here are her cutest moments:
When she just floated around, without a care in the world, like a little furry log.
When she was nuzzled up in a blanket and our hearts exploded with joy.
When she was vibing out, living the dream like she was on a GD beach.
When she shook off the water from her special otter hair.
When she walked onto a fuzzy towel probably for the first time, like, ever. The struggle was real.
THIS. ALL OF THIS.
When we got some close-ups of her adorable (albeit pretty frizzy) face and whiskers.
When she was like: "Hey, whaddya lookin' at? I'm just a little baby otter!"
Honestly, just this entire heartwarming sequence of events.
When the li'l pup got her first bottle. Seriously give this otter a baby book and then publish it and we'll buy all the copies.
When everyone wanted a photo op with her and she was like, "Come, on guys, I'm a tired little otter nugget who just wants to nap right now."
Damn it, we love otters.
