Adam Brody has booked a series regular TV gig. Breathe a sigh of relief, people!

Brody, who popped up on New Girl last season and House of Lies opposite Kristen Bell, will star in Billy & Billie, a new 10-episode drama from Neil LaBute on DirecTV's Audience Network. Lisa Joyce will co-star opposite The O.C. veteran.

Billy & Billie follows two stepsiblings—Brody and Joyce—who fall in love and must face the attention and scrutiny from their family and friends and must decide what is right for them.

"We are excited to offer Billy & Billie to our viewers, as this is exactly the type of provocative and intriguing programing that they have come to expect from Audience Network," Chris Long, senior vice president of original content and production at DirecTV, said in a statement. "This is our third collaboration with Neil LaBute. We could not be more thrilled to be working with him again and look forward to additional projects in the future as our relationship continues to mature."

"I feel extremely lucky to be doing my third project with DirecTV," LaBute said. "Bart Peters and Chris Long have been good enough to repeatedly give me a blank canvas to work on in the medium of television, and their trust has resulted in two wonderful experiments in form and content. I can't wait to work on this new series with them as we continue to try and push the boundaries of what American television can and should be."

The Hollywood Reporter first reported Brody's new role.

Brody shot to fame for playing Seth Cohen (swoon!) on Fox's The O.C.  for four seasons. He was previously attached to star in Amazon's pilot The Cosmopolitans opposite Chloe Sevigny, Carrie MacLemore and Dree Hemingway. The show didn't make it past the pilot stage. He also pops up on The League.

No premiere date for Billy & Billie has been set.
