What breakup blues?
Top Chef star Padma Lakshmi stepped out in New York City Tuesday afternoon just a few hours after news surfaced that her relationship with Richard Gere had ended.
Wearing bright pink pants, a black tank-top and matching sneakers, the 44-year-old looked happy and upbeat as she walked around the SoHo neighborhood.
E! News confirmed this morning that the notoriously private pair ended their romance after dating for six months. Throughout their relationship, the couple managed to avoid photographers who never obtained a picture of the two together.
Despite the breakup, Lakshmi appears to remain focused on her work as she maintains a jam-packed schedule.
Last Friday, the Bravolebrity appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote the new season of Top Chef. Later on Tuesday, the celebrity chef stopped by NBC's Today show where she avoided mentioning Gere's name.
Instead, she helped out on a segment dedicated to high heels and showed viewers how to cook chili three different ways.
Lakshmi was married to author Salman Rushdie for three years before filing for divorce in 2007. She later dated billionaire Teddy Forstmann and venture capitalist Adam Dell.
She has a 3-year-old daughter, Krisha, with Dell, while Gere has a son, Homer, from his previous marriage to Carey Lowell.
When asked about being a working single parent, Lakshmi recently told More magazine, "I have struggled with it. It's not easy, but I have a great career and I have my daughter. So what I don't have is not as important to me as what I do have." Great attitude, Padma.
We wish these two all the best.
