Jenna Bush Hager is excited, because as she says it, "It's fall, y'all!"
The Today correspondent went with hubby Henry Hager and their 18-month-old daughter Mila—aka Jenna's "dearest pumpkins!"—to the pumpkin patch on Sunday!
The Hager family are pros, too, when it comes to this time of year. Last Halloween, for example, little Mila (whose full name is Margaret Laura Hager) dressed up as the cutest astronaut you have ever seen. Thanks to her mom's Twitter account and Today, we saw the little "space babe" discussing some agronomy with former president George W. Bush (aka "Grandpa-jefe") and learned the "first-baby-in-space" would be trick-or-treating with grandma Laura Bush.
No word yet what Mila plans to be for Halloween 2014! Maybe, though, she'll bounce some ideas off Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky, the newborn daughter of another former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton, and her hubby Marc Mezvinsky! Chelsea gave birth to baby Charlotte Sept. 26, making former president Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton grandparents!
Grandma and grandpa Bush will surely swap stories with grandma and grandpa Clinton! Because although the two dynasties don't always see eye to eye on matters of politics, the families have actually become friends through the years. In fact, When W accepted Jenna's nomination to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, he nominated his buddy Bill, joking, "Yesterday was Bill's birthday and my gift to Bill is a bucket of cold water."
And who knows? Many years from now, Mila and Charlotte might be political adversaries, personal pals, or some combination of the two—you just never know!
