Say what you will about the Internet (it's full of ignorant idiots, too much porn, not enough porn, etc.), but the Internet gets s--t done.

After nine years of eating M&M's sans crispiness, Mars has announced that Crispy M&M's will come back to store shelves in January 2015. And it's all thanks to people loudly complaining online about the lack of the candy that was ripped from our grasp here in the U.S. in 2005. Sometimes metaphorically shaking your fist at a company via social media works!

Seth Klugherz, senior director of M&M's Chocolate Candies, tells BuzzFeed that people asked the company "nearly daily" to bring back Crispy M&M's, with requests "coming in the form of Facebook posts, they're coming in the form of calls to our customer service hotline, petitions—which, I didn't know you could petition to have products back—it's really a very broad-based group."

The rebooted Crispy M&M's will come in a brand-new green package:

First Surge soda and now this?! Children of the '90s and early 2000s are on a product resurgence roll. Whining works!

Naturally, the news of the return of this candy that is inferior to Peanut Butter M&M's (yeah, we said it), has Twitter all aquiver. And we don't get to say "aquiver" often, so bless this story.

But the real question is:

And thus the campaign begins:

And maybe Doritos 3D coming back with Surge and Crispy M&Ms will solve our world issues. This girl certainly thinks so:
