Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin are taking their romance public!

The Hunger Games actress, 24, and the Coldplay singer, 37, enjoyed a night out with friends at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood Thursday, E! News can exclusively reveal. "They seem very comfortable in each other's company—and happy!" an eyewitness says of the couple, who began dating this summer. "It doesn't seem like it's a new relationship. They seem super affectionate and at ease with each other."

The Academy Award winner introduced herself to Martin's friends, who welcomed her warmly. "She is very gregarious and confident," the source says. When Martin wasn't rubbing Lawrence's back, the "affectionate" musician often held his girlfriend's hand. Though it was a group outing, the eyewitness tells E! News that the celebrity couple "were the center of attention...They seem super cute together."

They weren't the only famous people at Chateau Marmont, however.

Robert Pattinson and Lawrence "saw one another and even walked past one another at one point," but they didn't talk. Their exes, Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult, are currently shooting the film Equals.

Awkward run-in avoided!

What does Martin's ex think of his new love? "Gwyneth is very happy for Chris, that he has moved on and found someone else," a source recently told E! News. "Their split has been remarkably amiable and they both just want the best for one another."

When they consciously uncoupled earlier this year, the exes vowed to remain amicable—and they have. In fact, the source said the Iron Man 3 star, 41, "can see why Jennifer is a good match for Chris...There are actually some amazing similarities between Jennifer and Gwyneth and how they view life and career, and so Gwyneth knows that ultimately Jennifer has the power to make Chris happy in the long term."
