It's hard to believe, yes, but today is Ryan Phillippe's 40th birthday!

Yes, seriously, the bad boy we crushed on in Cruel Intentions has hit that milestone, and you better believe that the still-hunky heartthrob is well aware of his advancing age. In fact, the father of three changed his Twitter name to "Old Peezy" for the big 4-0 and even referred to himself as an "older gentleman" in his bio!

Reese Witherspoon's ex-hubby even joked, "death's cold grip draws one year closer."

He acknowledged fans' well-wishes on the social media site, tweeting humorously that he was "having all your kind tweets read to me by my nurse as aged eyes are failing." Ah, Ry, just wait!

The B-Day boy really reflected about turning 40 on Instagram, where he shared a series of pics from his younger years. He even posted a 2000 YM cover that asked, "Ryan Phillippe, good boy or bad boy?" Cheekily enough, he answered the mag's question, writing, "All these years later & the jury still out."

He regrammed a pic of his younger self flexing his bulging bicep "cuz arm," and in another, he seemingly agreed ("Buhlee dat! Regram bae") with the statement, "I may be 40—but I'm still as fun as two 20 year olds."

Not to worry, though, Team Phillippe: Ryan's just playing around, but he has a serious side, too. Yesterday was his daughter Ava's 15th birthday, which, he tweeted, was when "I learned what love truly is."

Aw!
