Kate Middleton has been forced to cancel another public appearance.

"The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend the Opening Ceremony of the Invictus Games this evening or the Athletics event tomorrow," Kensington Palace told E! News in a statement Wednesday. As far as Middleton's other events go, a spokesperson for Her Royal Highness added, "The Duchess' attendance on the forthcoming visit to Malta will be kept under review and a decision taken closer to the time."

Middleton's Malta trip is slated for Sept. 20 and Sept. 21. If she's able to attend, it will mark her first solo tour since marrying into the royal family in April 2011. She would attend on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II.

The pregnant royal is currently being treated at Kensington Palace for Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which may require additional hydration, medication and nutrients. Middleton, 32, announced her pregnancy Monday—the same day she pulled out of a planned trip to Oxford with her husband, Prince William, 32. Regardless, the second in line to the throne told attendees he was "thrilled" to have a baby on the way.

Prince Harry, meanwhile, welcomed the international competitors to London and the Invictus Games Wednesday. "I know how hard you've been working over the last few months, and the British public—and indeed the world—can't wait to see you compete in just a few days' time in our nation's capital city," he told the athletes. "It's going to be an inspirational event and you won't want to miss out."
