E! News can reveal that Kristen Johnston is set to guest star in an upcoming episode of the Emmy-winning ABC comedy, and her character is going to spend the night...with Mitch?!
No, not like that!
The Exes star will play a law firm colleague of Mitchell's whom he invites to spend the night because she is going through a tough time. That's so nice of him, right?
But in true Mitch fashion, he has no idea what he's getting himself into as Johnston's character is having a much more intense emotional breakdown than he could have ever imagined. Prepare to see Johnston at her comedic best as she completely unravels emotionally, all to Mitch's shock and horror. Talk about the house guest from your worst nightmare!
Johnston currently stars with Donald Faison and Wayne Knight in TVLand's sitcom The Exes, about a group of divorced friends trying to get back to the single life, but she is best known for her role on the cult classic comedy 3rd Rock from the Sun. For six seasons, she played Sally Solomon, the security officer in a group of aliens sent to Earth disguised as a human family, with the mission of experiencing and reporting on life on the third planet from the sun. 3rd Rock from the Sun also starred John Lithgow, French Stewart and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Modern Family returns for season six on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
