The Baltimore Ravens terminated Ray Rice's contract after a shocking video from February surfaced Monday showing the former running back brutally punching then-fiancée Janay Palmer, but Janay, now his wife, is standing by her man.

On Tuesday morning, she reportedly posted an emotional reaction to her husband's NFL dismissal on her private Instagram page. In the message, which the Baltimore Sun verified came from Janay's official Instagram account and was intended to be released publicly, Ray's wife blamed "the media & unwanted options from the public" for "mak(ing) us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day..."

"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," she wrote. "But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that [the] media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass [off] for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific."

"THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels.," she continued. "Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"

E! News reached out to Janay's attorney for additional comment but did not receive an immediate response.

As for Ray's former team? In addition to terminating the athlete's contract Monday, the Baltimore Ravens tweeted Tuesday that they "will offer an exchange for Ray Rice jerseys at stadium stores."

And while the NFL initially suspended Ray for two games, after seeing video of the incident, Commissioner Roger Goodell announced an indefinite suspension the former Raven, meaning 27-year-old would have to apply to be reinstated to play football for any team in the league.
