Who better than Ron Burgundy to deliver news about cancer research efforts?

Will Ferrell reprised his iconic Anchorman role for a series of PSAs on behalf of Stand Up to Cancer. One of the video messages aired during the hour-long, commercial-free telecast that was broadcast on 36 U.S. networks, as well as in Canada, the Netherlands and the U.K. More clips were uploaded to YouTube.

Many of the videos were published just hours before the event took place.

"Thank you, Stand Up to Cancer—let me rephrase it! You're welcome, Stand Up to Cancer for getting me, the fool here, the village idiot, to do your bidding for free," the actor, in character, deadpanned in one of the laugh-out-loud, pre-taped video clips. "Are you happy, you guilt-ridden ego-maniacs?"

"I'm Ron Burgundy and I'm not afraid to say it: I'm no fan of cancer," Ferrell said in another video.

SU2C's first three telecasts took place in 2008, 2010 and 2012 and aired in more than 190 countries. To date, more than $261 million has been pledged to support various innovative cancer research programs.
