Masseuse Kept Mary-Kate in the Loop

Heath Ledger's masseuse dialed the actress three times before calling 911, and again after help arrived

Heath Ledger's masseuse logged a little more phone time than previously thought.

But the fact that Diana Wolozin actually called Mary-Kate Olsen three times before dialing 911 will not affect the investigation into the actor's death because authorities believe he was already dead when she discovered his body, New York police said Thursday.

Investigators said they realized four calls had been made upon a closer examination of Ledger's phone records.

According to the official time line of events, Wolozin was let into Ledger's apartment by his housekeeper at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday when she arrived for a scheduled appointment. She entered his bedroom at 3 p.m. after trying to reach him on his cell phone.

Not noticing anything was amiss, Wolozin started setting up her massage table. But when she tried to shake him awake a few moments later, his body was cold to the touch. She told police that she at first figured he was merely unconscious.

Knowing that Ledger and Olsen (a fellow client) were friends, Wolozin used the Brokeback Mountain star's cell phone to call the 21-year-old actress in California at 3:17 p.m. The call lasted 49 seconds, per NYPD records.

Another call made to Olsen at 3:20 p.m. lasted one minute and 39 seconds. A third call, lasting only 21 seconds, was placed at 3:24 p.m.

At some point during those three calls, Olsen told Wolozin that she was going to call a personal private security contact to assist with the situation.

Wolozin called 911 at 3:26 p.m., nine minutes after her first call to Olsen.

Three of Olsen's security guards eventually arrived at Ledger's SoHo residence at 3:33 p.m.—the same time as paramedics—and actually rode up on the elevator with the emergency crew.

However, paramedics refused to allow the trio into the apartment, where Ledger had lived for about five months.

Wolozin called Olsen one last time, at 3:34 p.m., presumably to bring her up to speed.

All efforts to resuscitate the actor were unsuccessful, and Ledger was pronounced dead at 3:36 p.m.

Police said Olsen's security detail has been cooperative with the investigation so far.

Aside from her questionable order of phone calls, Wolozin could be facing some repercussions. The New York State Department of Education confirms that Wolozin is not a licensed masseuse, which under state law is a health profession. A department spokesperson says Wolozin could face disciplinary action from the state and that the NYPD has been notified. While practicing without a license is a potential felony, police say no charges will be filed.

Olsen, like all of the women linked to Ledger in recent years, has not commented publicly on the loss. The 21-year-old actress reportedly met him during the summer of 2006 in Los Angeles, with some saying that they had been casually dating for about three months before he died.

"They had a bond that was based on partying, and they had the same tastes in partying...like, in terms of where they liked to hang out in New York, what time they would want to go out. They just had the same sensibility," a source told People.

Ledger amicably split up with fiancée Michelle Williams in September after three years together. Their daughter, Matilda Rose Ledger, is two.
