Kevin Winter/MTV1415/Getty Images for MTVMTV announced Kanye West's return to the Video Music Awards stage last night—except it wasn't really him, it was funnyman Jay Pharoah.
The Saturday Night Live comedian poked fun at Yeezy by impersonating him while reminding fans to vote for the Artist to Watch category. Decked out in Kanye-esque attire, Pharoah walked out to the stage and turned on his bravado to channel the "creative genius" we all know as Kanye West.
"They asked me to come out here and tell y'all about the Artist to Watch, but there's really only one artist to watch. Me," he began to say, while Kim Kardashian and sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner sat in the crowd. Pharoah went on to mimick the outspoken star and even mentioned the brunette beauty and daughter North West.
"This is a special night. But not as special as me and Kim's wedding," Pharoah said. "I wore a cape! Y'all probably seen us in the 'Bound' video, like [on a motorcyle]...Me and Kim are bigger than the Clintons fam. We so next level, we named our daughter North West after an airline that no longer exists."
So was Kim offended by it all? No way!
Not only were Kim and her sisters caught laughing at the whole sketch by cameras last night, but a source tells E! News that she wasn't bothered at all.
"She doesn't let things like that bother her. She thought it was funny. She has a good sense of humor," the insider explains, and added, "Jay didn't just do Kanye, he did Jay Z, too. She gets that its all part of his act. It didn't bother her at all."
