What really happened to Brittany Murphy?

In the first trailer for The Brittany Murphy Story, the network takes a look at the struggles the 8 Mile and Clueless star faced with confidence and beauty issues.
As an emotional cover of Haddaway's "What is Love" plays in the background, fans will also be reminded of the mystery surrounding her death.
Murphy died in December 2009 at the age of 32 from pneumonia and other causes. The actress' father, however, later attempted to reopen the case claiming forensic evidence proved she was being poisoned.
The biopic will also feature Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, who was found dead five months after Murphy's death. Police said he died from pneumonia and anemia, similar to Murphy.
The Brittany Murphy Story features former Grey's Anatomy and Last Man Standing star Amanda Fuller portraying the actress.
Sherilyn Fenn, who has appeared on Twin Peaks and Ray Donovan, will play Murphy's mother, Sharon Murphy. Eric Petersen from Kirstie will play Monjack.
The biopic premieres Saturday, September 6 at 8/7c only on Lifetime.
