The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards are just hours away and we can hardly contain our excitement!

This year's awards show is bound to be all that anyone can talk about for days to come, considering both the guest list and performance lineup.

So what exactly are we most excited to see? Let's take a look!

1. Beyoncé: All hail the queen, and the newest recipient of the legendary Video Vanguard Award. Yoncé is slated to make history with her highly anticipated performance and we can't help but wonder if her hubby Jay Z will be on hand to join her? It sure would put an end to all those pesky split rumors…Here's hoping there's plenty of skin, plenty of booty shaking, and maybe a cameo appearance by a surfbort.

2. Nicki Minaj: Because let's be honest, after the release of her over-the-top, booty-baring "Anaconda" music video this week, she could bring just about anything to the table. Only time will tell if we'll see the rap star perform live in the now-famous (and barely there) hot pink G-string.

3. Miley Cyrus: The former Disney darling is braving the awards show once again after last year's twerktastic rendition of "Blurred Lines." We can't even begin to guess what the "We Can't Stop" singer has up her sleeves, but something tells us she'll be making headlines no matter what.

4. Ariana Grande: Sure, she'll be sparkling onstage when she opens the show with "Bang Bang" alongside Jessie J and Ms. Minaj, but either way we can't wait to hear the former Nickelodeon star sing live. That girl's got some serious pipes, and any chance to catch her belt a tune leaves us in complete awe.

5. Taylor Swift: She may have released her single "Shake It Off" earlier this week, and announced her upcoming album, but the world still has yet to see her perform the pop track live. We can't help but assume that T.Swift's debut is bound to be the tamer of the acts later this evening, but maybe she'll shock us all!
