Ariana Grande is clarifying her comments before any serious drama goes down

The 21-year-old pop star, who released the music video for her hit tune "Break Free" today, is making headlines for her recent interview with Metro's Guilty Pleasures after she revealed she's "99.9 percent positive" that a past boyfriend cheated on her with another man.

While the brunette beauty failed to provide any context as to which former beau she's referring to, the website's headline, which reads "my ex had a gay affair," seemingly sparked speculation that the singer was alluding to ex Jai Brooks—a rumor which the songstress immediately shut down.

Despite the false reports, the brunette beauty did confirm, in a separate interview with Attitude, that her personal experience inspired her forthcoming single "Break Your Heart Right Back," which samples Diana Ross' famous 1980 hit "I'm Coming Out."

"It's about a boy who cheats on a girl with another boy. That's a very fun concept," she shared. "Well, originally it was going to be about a boy who cheats with a girl, but then I was like, 'No, I want it to be about a boy who cheats on a girl with another boy'."

"The sample on the song is 'I'm Coming Out,' so I was like, 'How funny and tongue-in-cheek would it be if the song was about him coming out because he cheated on her with another guy?'" she continued. "It's a cheeky song, I'm excited for people to hear it."

Grande later added to Metro: "I would rather he cheats on me with a guy than with a girl any day! If I found out my boyfriend was gay, I would be like 'OK!' I'd be so relieved."

On Tuesday, Ariana slammed a fan who made a homophobic remark directed at her sibling, Big Brother star Frankie Grande, and back in April, she performed at the legendary White Party in Palm Springs, Calif., the annual gay dance music festival.

Meanwhile, the ponytail-loving pop star has also been making headlines for her love life as of late after E! News revealed that the brunette beauty is currently dating Big Sean, with whom she recently released the tune "Big Mistake."

"They have been friends since they made the song together. They have been spending more time together and recently have been getting very close. They are both doing great," a source told E! News of the budding couple.

Earlier this month, E! News exclusively revealed that Ariana pulled the plug on her romance with her 19-year-old Aussie boyfriend Jai Brooks in July. "When her grandfather was dying, everyone was there for her. People flew to Florida to be with her, but Jai didn't," the source said. "Ariana just felt he wasn't there like he should have been."

In spite of the circumstances surrounding the split, the insider added that the breakup was amicable and the two have actually "remained friends."

Grande's sophomore album, My Everything, is scheduled for release on Aug. 22.
