Aww...Robert Pattinson is one proud little brother!

It was reported in late July that the 28-year-old Twilight alum's 31-year-old sister, Lizzy Pattinson, passed a closed-door audition for The X Factor U.K. in front of judges Simon CowellLouis WalshCheryl Cole and Mel B., which means she could end up appearing on the singing competition series' 11th season.

"I'm like, so ridiculously proud of her," a beaming Rob told Grazia Daily in an on-camera interview at a photo call for his movie The Rover in London on Wednesday. "I would never have the balls to do that, ever, in a million years. I can't believe she's done it. So, it's amazing."

Lizzy, who also shares with Rob an older sister, Victoria, has contributed background vocals to the Twilight and Twilight: Breaking Dawn—Part 1 soundtracks and sings on German house music duo Milk & Sugar's 2012 remix of "Let the Sunshine In" (watch the video below). Her famous brother, by the way, is also a musician and also recorded music for Twilight.

And good news, U.S. fans! If Lizzy makes it through the next rounds of auditions and ends up on-camera, you'll be able to watch her X Factor journey! (An even more exciting scenario: Rob himself attends shows and receives vast amounts of screen time.) It was announced this week that cable and satellite channel AXS TV, co-created by Ryan Seacrest and Mark Cuban, will air The X Factor U.K. starting on Aug. 31.

The franchise was created by Cowell, American Idol's most famous and most acerbic past judge, and debuted in the United Kingdom in 2004. A U.S. version premiered in 2011 on FOX and lasted three seasons.

In 2010, during season seven of The X Factor U.K., five male contestants were put into a group during the audition stages. They came in third place and went on to become one of today's most successful boy bands—One Direction.
