Are you ready for some magical news?

Smash fan-favorite Christian Borle has reportedly joined the cast of NBC's live-action Peter Pan musical, set to air in December, and you'll never guess who he's going to play!

He's not just going to take on one iconic role...he's playing two! That's right, Borle is going to really flex his acting, singing and dancing muscles to pull double-duty, especially since this is going to be totally, completely live. Yikes! We definitely couldn't do it, but hey, Borle is a Tony winner after all. Clap if you believe he can pull it off! (Yes, we're clapping right now.)

So which two roles is Borle going to take on?

The Smash alum will play Captain Hook's second-in-command Smee and the Darling kids' father, Mr. Darling, Deadline reports. Yeah, those are two completely different roles, so Borle's really got his work cut out for him.

But here's a fun fact: this isn't the first time an actor has pulled double-duty in a live production of Peter Pan. Not by a longshot. In the original Broadway production and in NBC's 1995 live broadcast of Peter Pan, actor Cyril Ritchard played both the parts of Captain Hook and Mr. Darling. If it's been done before, it can certainly be done again, right? (In the 2003 live-action film version, Jason Isaacs played Mr. Darling and Captain Hook, as well.)

Plus, Borle has lots of experience with live-action musicals on NBC...remember the network's recent production, The Sound of Music Live? Borle played Max Detweiler in that smash hit (Get it? Smash? Sorry, so punny).

Borle will star in Peter Pan Live! opposite Girls star Allison Williams, who's playing the titular character Peter Pan, and Christopher Walken, who's playing the villainous Captain Hook.

Peter Pan Live! airs on Thursday, Dec. 4 on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
